In 2021 we ran a global virtual event for University students across the world to help propose solutions for people with real world challenges stemming from their experiences with Neurodiversity. From face blindness to aspergers, we were amazed by the response from over 100 students participating in the event.
In 2022, the event was opened to businesses and individuals with the focus on physical disability and its impact on access to healthcare.
As the world seeks to become more accessible, both these topics highlight the challenges faced by individuals and the learnings and routes that we can all take to be more inclusive in our every day lives.
Why a Hackathon?
What even is a hackathon?
A hackathon is a time bounded event where individuals or teams of individuals work together to create a solution based around a set of challenges. It encourages fresh and collaborative ideas and allows those who might not normally be in a position to suggest them, the room for creative freedom.
Who owns the ideas?
The event aims to create open source ideas that could be used or built upon by others. So if you like the ideas on the site and would like to take them further then please feel free. We would ask that you look to include the originators of the ideas as a courtesy and make sure to reference them.
Can I use the challenge transcripts on the site?
Although the challenges were made public on the site, this was done for the purpose of the events and now to give relevance/context to the submissions.
We would ask that you dont reference or reuse the challenge content, please.
How can I get in touch with the creators of the ideas/challenges?
If you would like to contact anyone who participated in the hacks, please use the email in the contact box on the front of this site and we will forward on your details.
You have ideas with their status linked to a CA work item. The idea status may be updated if it is not up to date. This process cannot be undone. Are you sure?
